Mission
Our mission is to create an immersive training environment that empowers nurse practitioner and physician assistant residents to achieve their highest potential. By equipping residents with clinical acumen, procedural skills, critical thinking, and a systems-based approach, we prepare them to serve both the community and the healthcare profession.
Community
STRIDE serves the community with a broad spectrum of primary care services, including OB/GYN, pediatrics, adult medicine, geriatrics, infectious disease, addiction medicine, and integrated dental and behavioral health services. Residents will gain exposure to these specialties and learn to integrate skills into a comprehensive, patient-centered care model focused on serving our community.
Vision
We aim to train residents on our patient-centered approach to healthcare. Using a team-based model, our patients receive individualized care from a variety of healthcare professionals. Our goal is to provide exceptional healthcare services to our community's most vulnerable populations. We strive to ensure our patients feel heard, cared for, affirmed, and respected and that our residents feel prepared and supported to confidently manage the complexities of primary care.
Residency programs provide new Nurse Practitioners (NP) and Physician Assistants (PA) with critical hands-on experience, mentorship, and structured support to smoothly transition from academic training to independent practice. At STRIDE, our Advanced Practice Provider Residency (APPR) helps residents enhance clinical competency, deepen medical knowledge, and develop collaborative skills in a team-based care environment.

Our residency offers a unique perspective on public health, focusing on underserved populations and equipping residents with the skills to address the complexities of community healthcare. Through a combination of clinical training, didactic learning, leadership development, and wellness initiatives, residents gain the expertise needed to thrive in primary care.

Residency-trained providers demonstrate improved clinical skills, stronger collaboration, and higher patient satisfaction. The program prepares residents for long-term career success, fostering leadership in family medicine and healthcare policy advocacy, while also ensuring a rewarding experience in community health.
